Try our Classic Beer Battered Fish tonight, accompanied by our spicy oven fries. Here's the recipe, ENJOY :)
BEER BATTERED FISH
1-1 1/2 lbs Fish (haddock or halibut suggested)
1 cup Beer Batter mix by Orange Crate
¾ cup beer (ale or lager)
Preheat oil in a deep fryer to 350ºF (use candy / deep frying thermometer if required)
Mix dry batter mixture & beer in a bowl. Stir in additional beer if the batter is too thick.
Dip the fish in the batter (batter should lightly coat entire fillet). Fry fish in the deep fryer until golden brown. Remove the deep fryer basket and place fish on paper towel to absorb excess oil.
Sprinkle with salt to taste. Serve with lemon wedges and tartar sauce.
Tip: For an extra taste of the ocean, use one of Orange Crates 5 different flavoured sea salts.
Recipe: Preheat oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C). Use a French Fry cutter or cut 5-6 medium potatoes into wedges. Mix together 1 tbsp (15 ml) extra virgin Olive Oil, 1/3 cup (83 ml) grated parmesan cheese and 1 tbsp (15 ml) Orange Crate Spicy Oven Fries Seasoning. Cover baking sheet with parchment paper and spread potatoes evenly. Bake for 30-40 minutes turning every 10 minutes. Bake until golden. Do not allow fries to overcook.
Tip: For Crispy Fries, turn broiler on for five minutes.
